The Computer Graphics International Conference was initially founded by Prof. Tosiyasu L. Kunii as Intergraphics Tokyo in 1983. In 1985, CGI (Computer Graphics International) was founded in Geneva by Prof. Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann and Prof. Daniel Thalmann. The Computer Graphics International (CGI) is one of the oldest annual international conferences on computer graphics. It is organized by the Computer Graphics Society (CGS). Researchers across the whole world are invited to share their experiences and novel achievements in various fields – like computer graphics and human-computer interaction. Former conferences have been held recently in Shanghai (China), Geneva (Switzerland), Ottawa, Canada, and Bournemouth, England.
A steering committee (SC) of the CGS is composed of members, mostly who have organized the conferences in the past. It decides about the strategy of the CGS and the operations of its governing conferences. The SC also coordinates and maintains the CGS Membership that are offered to all participants to the CGS conferences. The SC requests a proposal including conference and program chairs proposals, keynote speakers, financial budget and dates to be submitted to the SC no later than 14 months before the date of the proposed conference.
